At the hop…

MOOD: TIRED

So, this evening was so much fun. It started off with my favorite organic salad at Northstar Cafe! I got the Beechwald Salad. It consists of organic greens, avocado, figs, almonds, chick peas, chicken breasts and whole wheat bread! I finished the whole thing! Dr. Heather introduced me to this place several months back and I was hooked.

The evening then continued with an attempt to go to Pattycake Vegan bakery just two miles away from Northstar Cafe. Pattycake is an entirely vegan bakery and does not use any hydrogenated oil! To us who are not vegan it may sound gross, however, this place is finger-licking good!!! It is definitely a must-try here in Ohio! Unfortunately, Dr. Heather and I was not able to satisfy our craving for sweets because they were closed :-(

Shortly after the disappointment, we finally made it to the gallery hop! We parked at North Market. This is a pretty cool indoor market. Has many different types of foods, flowers, ingredients, etc to try out and explore. The day Alex took me to North Market, we also had the opportunity to watch a volleyball tournament. That was a real treat for me! As Dr. Heather and I walked down High St. going from one gallery to the next was extremely fun! (My hubby should be proud of me that I did not spend any $$, well, that is if you dont count the salad I bought) I enjoyed the little European, Indian, Turkey and jewelry shops the most. Aside from the different galleries and little shops we went to, the highlights came from the people who were walking along the streets. First, a 350lb woman who was belly dancing. That may not sound interesting, but I tell you it definitely was. I will end the conversation at that because I do not want to offend. Second, a lady on stiltz. I asked her if there was any particular reason why she was on stiltz, and there wasn’t. She was there by herself so it wasn’t for any type of entertainment or anything. To top that off, she made her own stiltz! Who makes their own stiltz unless it was their profession or something, right? The last highlight was at an art gallery that the figure of a womans’ body made out of toothpicks! What made this interesting for me is that I had something stuck inbetween my back teeth I could’ve really used a toothpick at that point. Dr. Heather and I made a second attempt to satisfy our sweet craving at Jeni’s Ice Cream. This place has the out-of-the-ordinary ice cream flavors. Jeni’s uses only organic grassfed dairy. My husband’s favorite flavor is Cognac. To me its disgusting and that was the first time I ever spit out ice cream, but to him its his ice cream fantasy turned reality. Once again, we did not get any ice cream because the line was two blocks long!

This concluded our evening at the gallery hop. Once I got home, Cali jumped like crazy, wanting to play. She took one of her toys and followed me for as I argued with her daddy on the phone. Poor baby is now zonked out. The evening was almost cancelled because of her. She kept crying and scratching the door when I left. She did not want to be left alone. Lucky for her she was a good doggie while I was gone. I will treat her to a run at our favorite running path at Atrim park tomorrow. Oreo (our cat) meowed nonstop. Poor cat does not get the same attention that Cali gets. So I picked her up and gave her some TLC for a couple minutes (only 5 really…sad huh?)

Well….thats all for the evening…as I sit here watching “Unwrapped” on food network about ICE CREAM! GREAT DAY! I am craving ice cream…..*help*
